| Codbag FAQ |
| What is a Codbag and what is this website all about? |
| This started out as an idea we had to create hit counters that will work in
Craigslist or anywhere else that accepts HTML. We marketed it with our
seller advocacy blog, Codbag.com and we soon built a loyal following. This
site is the next generation of that effort. It not only allows users to
create unlimited new hit counters that work nearly anywhere but it also allows
user to track the performance of each counter, seperately or all-at-once. |
| So, how do you make money? |
| What's money? No, really we make money off of our
partnership with Google Adsense. It's not a whole lot, but it does help
pay for the hosting so if you need something and you see an interesting ad,
please consider shopping with one of our quality sponsors. |
| What's the difference between the Basic and Pro levels? |
| The basic account is available to everyone, with or without
registering for the site but it has the most limited functionality. The Codbag Pro
account includes more functionality such as performance tracking but you have to
register for an account. Both levels are 100% free to use for as long as
you want. There will be a Craigslist version coming soon that
will allow you to manage, track and update all your Craigslist ad performance
from one place. |
| Why do I have to register for a Pro account? |
| There are certain pieces of information we need to make that
functionality work, so registering is necessary. Plus, it's cool and all
your friends are doing it. You want to be cool don't you? |
| Once the counter is created, how do I add it to my site? |
| The HTML code that is generated when you create a new
counter can be added to most places that accept HTML code such as Craigslist and
E-Bay. In general, all you need to do is copy and paste it into your ads. See
our code placement tips for more information. |
| Can I use the same counter code for multiple sites? |
| You can but because each counter has a unique ID attached to
it, it won't be able to differentiate between the different pages it resides on.
In other words, if you put the counter on site A and site B, the hits for both
of those pages taken together will show in the counter. to get around
this, just create one counter for site A and one counter for site B. |
| How can I reset the counter to zero? |
| Unfortunately, the counters are not designed to be reset to
zero. The good news is that you can simply create a new counter and
copy/paste it into the new ad, posting, listing or whatever and it will start
from zero. |
| I lost my password. How can I get it? |
| Not a problem. just go to the login page and click on
the link that says "I lost my password". |
