When copying and pasting the HTML code blocks from for your counters into your Craigslist ads, E-Bay ads, etc, make sure you're not breaking an existing HTML structure. In other words, only put the HTML code between tags that are supposed to have text such as...

<body>...counter code...</body>
<table><tr><td>...counter code...</td></tr></table>
<div>...counter code...</div>

The biggest thing to remember is that each counter has it's own unique identifier so you should only use a counter in one page unless you want to see a combined total.

The best place for the counter in a Craigslist ad in the field called "Posting Description", after you're done typing all the content for your ad. Click For An Example

Placing one of our counters in an E-Bay ad is very similiar to placing one in a Craigslist ad. With E-bay listings, you do want to make sure that when you get to the sections entitled "Describe the item you're selling", you click the tab that says "HTML" to the right of the tab that says "Standard". If you put the code into the box while the Standard tab is lit up, the counter will not work correctly and will appear as gibberish in your listing. Click For An Example

In regular web pages, the code block can go most anywhere, as long as it does not break containing code. The easiest way to place the code block is just to place it before the </body> tag of your document.
